Let Us Wander

Let us wander amid the statues of white
In the courtyard of the bowers,
Where silver fountains sob in the sunlight;
Let us walk in boons for radiant hours.

Let us rove beneath the leafy branches,
To the gardens' munificent border,
To the majesty of the field,
Strewn with red farms and ranches,
Where grasses sway in an Apollonian order;
Let us lay in the potions that they yield,
And recline within their sallow hay
At the end of the summery, hazy day.

And when the approaching, mystic night
Reveals to us the languid moonlight,
Let us stroll, hand in hand,
To the wide, breezy shore,
And swim in the brine,
In the oceans' blue wine,
Enraptured in the sand,
In ecstasy once more.
